Karrimor - Built Different - Behind The Scenes

Some of you may have heard me talk recently about my involvement with a bunch of videos that Terrybnd has been filming. Well today is the day that the first fully finished movie went live on YouTube. The videos were made for Karrimor and it showcases some of their great new gear. It also shows off some great locations in the Peak District too.

I was the willing model, dummy, manikin, Subject in the videos and I really enjoyed being involved. We started off on the first day by doing a spot of filming up on Curbar Edge and some of those scenes have made it to the final edit.

It was rather Hazy that day so our next location was down in Padley Gorge, there is plenty of footage from there in the movie and its a place all must visit.. not at the same time though. We then headed for Monsal to record some footage on the viaduct before heading to the Social Hiking Meet.

Our next day of filming was a week or so later when I met Terry up on Axe Edge Moor, It was my first visit there and I was very impressed with the place. We filmed some shots of the Karrimor X Lite 1 tent in a wild camping scenario while basking in the glorious sunshine.

We then moved on to the Stanage area after a ride through Millers Dale and Tideswell. We filmed some shots of the rucksacks before calling it a day and heading to Bakewell.

Our final day of filming was up on Bamford Edge a few days ago, I even took my daughter along to carry some equipment. She had been asking to come with me so she was a very willing Sherpa/Porter. Terry filmed some great shots of me looking wistful/contemplative at Win Hill and down into the Hope Valley. Next was to film me doing a spot of scrambling on the Gritstone Rock of the edge itself.

I'd like to thank Terry for giving me the chance to be involved with this project, I have thoroughly enjoyed being the "Subject" and it was great to get a behind the scenes look at his work. I've been very impressed with the Karrimor kit which was sent for the filming, I have been using allot of it since it arrived and you can expect some reviews very soon. The piece of kit that i'm perhaps the most enjoying is the Karrimor Elite Alpiniste eVent Jacket, its an amazing jacket and I have worn it allot since receiving it. Now that the filming is finished I can give the kit a bit of stick and test it thoroughly.
